Traditional Care

Traditional Care

Our traditional midwifery care for low-risk pregnancies is centered around providing women-focused, empowering maternity care that honors the natural process of childbirth.

We offer personalized care with regular prenatal visits, continuous support during labor, and natural pain management techniques that respect the body's innate wisdom.

Our empowering model extends into the postpartum period, ensuring mothers receive the support they need to transition confidently into their new role while maintaining their physical and emotional well-being.

Medicine Wheel

Medicine Wheel

Much like my native roots, my practice is evaluated through the 'medicine wheel', integrating traditional Indigenous wisdom with modern midwifery practices.

Physical Well-Being: Prenatal check-ups, nutritional guidance, natural birthing methods, and comprehensive postpartum care.

Emotional Well-Being: Compassionate counseling, creating a safe space for expression, and building emotional resilience throughout the journey.

Mental Well-Being: Education and empowerment, supporting informed decisions, and providing mental health support when needed.

Spiritual Well-Being: Honoring rituals, mindfulness practices, meditation, and spiritual support that respects each family's beliefs and traditions.

About Us

Lacy Mansfield, CPM, LM

Lacy Mansfield, CPM, LM

I am a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) and LM (Licensed Midwife) for the state of Wyoming. We moved from Montana to Southeastern Wyoming in 2016. Prior to moving to Wyoming, I was an EMT for 9 years and served rural areas in Southeastern Montana. I currently hold a position as the treasurer for the Wyoming Midwives Association and also sit on the Wyoming Board of Midwifery as Vice Chair. In 2015, I decided to become a midwife and enrolled in a dual curriculum through NCM (National College of Midwifery) and Mountain Midwifery School to fulfill both Montana and Wyoming requirements. In 2017, I graduated from Mountain Midwifery School and then in 2019 she graduated from National College of Midwifery with an ASM (Associate of Science in Midwifery). Midwifery is in my family's blood. Soon after beginning my journey as a midwife, I found out that my great grandmother, Shaly Harris, was a midwife for the Northern Cheyenne people. I am married and have 4 children that have also decided to homeschool. Family is a precious gift from God and I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for every moment that I get with them.

Sydney Calero - Senior Student (Cheyenne)

My name is Sydney. I was born and raised in the small town of Ottawa Lake, Michigan. I am a wife, mother of two boys, Navy veteran, birth and postpartum Doula, photography enthusiast, and student midwife in the Midwifery College of Utah Bachelor of Science in Midwifery program. After the birth of my first child, I felt a deep calling to midwifery. However, it didn't feel like it was the "right" time. Instead, I completed doula training in May of 2021. I had an incredible homebirth that grew my passion for birth even bigger than it already was. I woke up the next day knowing that midwifery was where I needed to be. I hold the tradition of "midwife" dear. I view the translation, "with woman" as an emotional, spiritual and physical commitment to support women in one of the most transformative times of their lives. I believe every woman deserves inclusive, informative, and respectful pre-and-postnatal care. Birth is a natural and physiological process. It is powerful, personal, and spiritual experience. As women, we obtain the wisdom needed for birth. I believe that every woman has the inherent right to a pleasant birthing experience in an environment in which she feels safe, supported, and guided by evidence-based and current practices. I am excited beyond explanation to follow in the footsteps of the great midwives before me. I would like to thank you in advance for allowing me in your birth space and aiding in my ability to grow as a student and serve the birth community as a new midwife in the years that follow.

Rachel (Rae) Cotton - 1st year student (Casper)

Hi! My name is Rachel Cotton. I am a 1st year student of midwifery who has already had the privilege of assisting women of various ages and backgrounds during this most transformative time in their lives. I love being able to observe and serve women as they enter their "goddess mode" during birth. I myself have given birth to five children, and I firmly believe in the power, strength, and beauty of labor and motherhood. Lacy is a fantastic midwife. I am so grateful that I get to learn from her as I train to become a CPM or Certified Professional Midwife through the Mercy in Action College of Midwifery. After my training I hope to be able to stay in Casper and continue to serve the women in our community for many years to come.

Arianna Latimer - 1st year student (Casper)

Arianna Latimer - 1st year student (Casper)

My name is Arianna Latimer. I am a student midwife at Midwives College of Utah working on my Bachelor's degree. I chose midwifery for my career because I was born at home with a midwife and have heard stories of the benefits of this birth plan. I have always wanted to have a career where I can help babies and their parents and give them a chance to have a positive birth experience. I was raised in a medical family, however I saw the challenges of traditional birth in a hospital, and wanted to offer others the same benefits my mother had. I have also been raised in a holistic environment and want mothers to have the opportunity to make their birth their own, and experience the beauty of how home birth as an alternative to a clinical hospital experience. I look forward to the opportunity to be part of your birthing journey.
